Airport attended the Virtualisation and Cloud Computing Executive Summit in November.
Tasked with improving the Airports infrastructure of 900 servers Mike Ede Head of IT Services for Gatwick Airport attended the Virtualisation and Cloud Computing event in November with his Security advisor to look at and evaluate the latest technologies in Cloud Computing.
The main drivers for Gatwick were reliability and lowering costs to provide a more efficient and productive service to users. By attending the event Mike was able to make decisions about what Cloud Computing technologies are on offer and assess the risks of moving to the Cloud.
By speaking with end users and vendors at the event Mike was able to gather the information he needed to take away and formulate a strategy to present to the board.
